Dia de los Muertos
(Day of the Dead)

The Mexican holiday, November 1st and 2nd, celebrates the wondrous cycle of life by recognizing, but not fearing, death.  It is a time to reflect on warm memories and share happy stories, rather than mourning the absence of loved ones.

Day of the Dead Stamping Ideas

We have a great shrine builder set and skeleton images for creating your own stamped Day of the Dead shrine.  See the article and instructions for creating your own shrine on page 41 of the Sept/Oct issue of Expression Magazine -- Day of the Dead: Shrines to Remember.  (See our ad on page 79 in the September/October issue of Expression!)

While browsing the Web, I found an idea for a neat stamping project: A Day of the Dead pin.  We have a great carved skull image that will work wonderfully for the central piece.  If you don't have Sculpey clay, just stamp the skull on a thick piece of cardboard or heavy cardstock.  If you do, our stamps are deeply etched and work great for stamping with clay!
