Once Upon a Time

Stamp the image onto white cardstock with permanent black ink. Start filling in the image lightly with colored pencils, gradually building up the color and blending it with a stub and odorless mineral spirits.  Trim and matte with various shades of cardstock. Cut decorative paper with a craft knife on the corners and insert matted picture. Mount on more cardstock.
Materials: WorldWin Papers cardstock in various shades of blue and teal; DCWV Once Upon a Time glitter paper; Prismacolor colored pencils; 7gypsies rub on.

Directions: The base of the card is a quarter-fold mauve cardstock. A strip of the paisley printed paper was adhered to the front of the card. Zoe was stamped in black ink on white cardstock and colored in with pencils. Pink ink was used on the edges and it was matted again in white and attached to the printed paper. A length of ribbon was attached to the side of the printed paper and a small charm and flower were attached with a colored safety pin. Small photo holders were added with white brads. A rub on verse (Melissa Frances) was added to the mauve section.

Stardust was stamped onto a piece of glossy white cardstock (4.5” x 4.5”) that was sprayed with dye inks, glitter and webbing beforehand. She was matted onto black and then light purple cardstock. The card base was a 12” x 6” piece of purple cardstock that was folded in half and re-inkers, glitter and webbing were used to dye it beforehand also. Stardust was encrusted with dots of glitter glue. A small piece of black and purple cardstock was trimmed and the words Star Shine were written with a gold ink pen.

Directions: Mahina was stamped onto a piece of acetate with permanent ink and rolled through a sticker machine to add adhesive to the back.  The image was then embedded adhesive side down in a shallow pan of metal flakes and burnished to a smooth finish. The image was mounted onto black mat and then a golden mat that had been trimmed with a decorative corner punch. A piece of pre-decorated bronze cardstock was used with another layer of gold mat.  The base of the card was made with black cardstock.  Small squares of the bronze cardstock were punched and circles of the extra flaked metal acetate were punched and attached with small gold brads to the bottom of the card.

Card base made from WorldWin Papers DoubleMates with the darker side on the outside. A piece of the same paper was torn with deckle edge ruler, and the lighter side was placed on top. A layer of gold WorldWin DoubleMates was layered on top of the blues, then the mermaids were stamped onto a piece of metallic white paper with black permanent ink, and colored in with colored pencils. Small stamps of sea shells and seaweed were used on the DoubleMates. Mesh paper was cut to make corner pieces, and the entire card was accented with glitter glue. A real starfish and a small leaf embellishment were added.

Card base made from WorldWin Papers Elan Metallics.  A small piece of glossy white cardstock was used to stamp the face, which was colored in with watercolors, and edged with metallic red leafing pen. A slightly larger piece of the black metallic cardstock was used to make a matte. Next a larger piece of the glossy white cardstock was stippled with three shades of red alcohol ink and red metallic leafing pen. A slightly larger piece of gold mirror cardstock was used for a matte, and strips of the gold were used for embellishment. The face was attached to the alcohol inked section. The metallic cardstocks give add a lot of drama and impact to this card.

Image used: VW-018-I, Another Pretty Face
Background design was printed from Twisted Papers, Volume 2, in a 5” x 7” size on an ink jet printer, and edged with a gold leafing pen.  Matted onto black cardstock. Face stamped on pink cardstock, colored, then matted with black and white cardstock. The image was mounted to a slant at the top of the print. The clear sticker quote was added to the print. The corners of the piece were notched with a punch, and fine gold cording was wrapped around the edges. A purple flower with a black brad center was attached to the top and the entire piece was mounted to a lavender card.

Stamped in black ink on green-gray cardstock, and matted with scrapbook paper.  Gold leafing pen and gold dimensional paint were used in her hair.  The card was accented with Prima paper flowers, gold dimensional paint and gold mesh ribbon.

Stamped with black ink on mauve cardstock.  Background is hand-made with diluted dyes and spray webbing.  Prima paper flowers, gold leafing pen and gold dimensional paint were added as an accent.

Base of card is black, glossy cardstock stamped multiple times with the flower stamp (Innovative Stamp Creations) and then embossed with light green powder after being splashed with Moon Glow mists and webbing spray. A plain white piece of cardstock was prepared for the cat collage stamp by mop sponging with Shadow ink. The cat was then stamped onto it and embossed. Ribbon, pen and charms were added.

The black cardstock is a quarter fold card size. The image was stamped onto a linen finished tan cardstock with black ink. It was matted with a black cardstock, patterned music paper and gold and black handmade paper. A small word sticker was added below the image which was accented with black brads.  Black and gold handmade paper, black cardstock (Hobby Lobby); Tan linen look paper (Die Cuts With a View); Music paper (Rusty Pickle); Black brads (Making Memories); Real Life sticker (pebbles.com); Black India ink (Stewart Superior); Double-sided tape (As-Tech)

The face was stamped with black ink onto white coated paper that had been previously sprayed with color dye washes and sponged with mica gold ink. (The gold appears as yellow on the scans but is only slightly visible in real life.)  It was cut to size and matted with black cardstock.  Twinkling H20's (Luminarte) in violet and passion were used to color her lips and eyes.  She was placed on some patterned cardstock that was inked on the edges with lavender ink and placed on plain violet cardstock. A purple flower attached with a brad and a clear sticker were used to accent this piece.

This was placed onto one end of aqua 8"x8"cardstock that was folded in half. Some small flower stamps were used as corner accents behind her face.  Twinkling H20's in blue and passion were used to color her lips and eyes.  A piece of patterned scrapbook paper was inked around the edges and used as a base for the large quote sticker. A pink grosgrain ribbon was attached along the bottom length of the card and a large paper daisy with a sticker in the center was added.

Image was stamped with black ink onto a background that was previously sprayed with diluted dye inks and gold webbing. This was trimmed with a gold leafing pen as a border.  A clear "Shine" sticker was added as well as a gold sun charm.  The image was matted onto a light periwinkle cardstock and then onto a darker blue patterned cardstock.

Image was stamped with black ink onto a background that was previously sprayed with diluted dye inks and gold webbing. This was trimmed with a gold leafing pen as a border.  Her dress and cheeks were painted with diluted dye ink. Small sequin flowers were glued in a scattered fashion over the image. A clear sticker with the word "Spirit" was added to the corner.  The piece was matted onto a patterned paper cardstock.
