
Domino Block:
1. Tightly
arrange six plain, white, standard dominoes into the pattern shown.
2. Trace
around patterned dominoes onto a piece of chipboard. Cut out
chipboard template on the inside of the traced lines. Affix domino
pattern onto chipboard with
Gorilla Glue.
(Make sure you glue dot side down!) Allow to dry completely.
3. Lightly
sand the front of the domino block. Wipe clean with dry cloth.
4. Using
a foam paintbrush, prime the domino block with a light layer of
Gesso. Allow
to dry.
5. Using
paintbrush of your choice, paint a nice layer of Halo
Pink
Gold
Jacquard Lumiere
acrylic paint over the domino block. Don’t forget the edges! Allow
to dry.
6. Choosing
a nice mix of fall colors, very lightly and randomly paint acrylic
paints over the first layer. Wipe off some areas so the pink gold
layer shows through. Allow to dry.
7. Using
Gold acrylic paint, subtly paint faint streaks over the entire
domino block. Allow to dry.
8. Using
Forest Green
StazOn Ink, randomly stamp leaf image by
Rubber Stampede
over entire domino block.
9. Edge
the entire domino block with a very thick line with a
Krylon Gold Leafing Pen.
Allow to dry.
Shrink Art:
1. Stamp
Oak Ash & Thorne (VW-013-L)
image on the rough side of clear shrink plastic with Black StazOn
Ink.
2. When
dry, use colored pencils to color the leaves, head ornament, eyes,
and lips of the image.
3. Carefully
cut out the image and shrink with heat gun. (Or follow the
manufacturer’s instructions on how to shrink in a toaster oven)
4. When
cool, edge plastic piece with gold leafing pen.
5. Affix
the Oak Ash & Thorne plastic piece onto the domino block as shown
with
Red Liner Tape.
Finishing
Touches:
1.
Glue beaded fringe over the top and bottom of the domino block with
gel medium. (You may also use Red Liner Tape.) Allow to dry.
2.
Cut the back off of three copper maple leaf brads. Affix to domino
block as shown using your favorite craft glue. Allow to dry.
