Take the Favorite Stamp Challenge The July/August 2006 issue of RubberStampMadness will have a theme called: My Favorite Stamp. This inspired me to challenge you all to send us artwork featuring your favorite Third Coast stamp. I'll be doubling the Gallery posting credit for all entries received now through January 31st. That is a $10 Third Coast credit for every piece you send that we post in our Customer Gallery! You might even consider sending your favorite stamp creation to RSM for the July/August issue. You can find their submission guidelines here.
A Note from ValOur plan for the new year promises a lot of changes and long overdue updates for Third Coast, including a new catalog, online shopping cart, and the formation of The Creative Crew (our version of a design team), and perhaps, once again, mounted stamps on a limited basis. Stay tuned, and be sure to send me your thoughts, ideas and suggestions. January 16th - 20th we will be closed as I will be traveling to Colorado to attend the funeral of my grandmother-in-law, a lady who taught me it's alright for a woman to be outspoken every now and then. It was just like her to choose Friday the 13th, with a full moon, to journey to the other side. She was a force to be reckoned with -- quite the character -- even chose to be married on Halloween. (She once remarked to me that the only wedding gifts they received were "a pig and a sheet.") She grew up in a small Oklahoma town "without two nickels to rub together," yet she was always a positive and upbeat character, with a sassy comment for every situation. Born on the summer solstice, she gave birth to her only child on the winter solstice. Her only grandchild, my late husband, was born on the vernal equinox. (I'll always feel a bit like I didn't keep my end of the bargain by giving birth to the next generation on the autumnal equinox.) She chose to be buried in a beaded gown, with her nails painted shocking red. She was 92, and the last three years of her life, she would wear nothing but red. This won't be so much a sad day for me as it will be a time to celebrate a life well lived. Wishing you and yours all the best in 2006. Happy Stamping!
