I’m an award winning
artist trained in Fine Art and a certified Gare Ceramic
instructor as well as an avid paper artist, jewelry
designer and an altered artist of anything I can get my
hands on.
I’m an animal person,
especially cats! I specialize in painting life-like and
fantasy ceramic cats, dogs and lots of other animals
too. I enjoy oil painting, drawing, photography and
digital painting too. I particularly love doing animal
portraits.
I haven been involved
in the world of Rubber Stamping for well over 10 years
and in 2002 I found my passion for Altered Game Piece
Art. I
pioneered the technique of using Sharpie markers to
create vibrant miniature works of art on game tiles and
earned my nickname ‘The Sharpie Domino Queen’ on my
Yahoo group
DominoART.
I work out of my
studio in sunny San Diego where I live with my hubby and
furbabies! I have a mixed breed kitty and a Boston
Terrier. Both are girls so my hubby feels outnumbered.
My creations and
articles have been featured in Somerset Studio, Stampers'
Sampler, The Rubber Stamper and Belle Armoire Jewelry
magazines, as well as online. Artwork & Article
publications include: “The Sharpie Domino Queen” -
Somerset Studio - July/August 2003; “Enveloping Art” -
Stamper’s Sampler - Feb/March 2005; “Dominaeries -
Domino Faerie Pins” - Belle Armoire Jewelry - Spring
2008.
I keep very busy
serving on some awesome Design Teams and I’m currently
designing for Third Coast Rubber Stamps, Blockheads
Paper Arts and About Art Accents.
Some of you probably
know me from my monthly e-zine, ‘Leigh’s Altered World
of Game Pieces’, which used to live at The Stamper’s
Mall a few years ago until the Mall sadly closed down.
I’m also the owner of the Yahoo Groups
