Using the blunt end of a make-up sponge, smear DecoArts Dazzling Metallics Crystal Green and FolkArt Metallic Blue Pearl acrylic paints over the surface of a large unfinished 6-sided box, including the lid and bottom of box. Let dry. Using black gesso and sponge brush, paint inside of box, and let dry. Over-paint gesso with Plaid’s Glaze Vernis in Malachite. Paint the inside box top with Crystal Green.

Start by stamping "sand" with metallic copper paint in a flowing pattern at the bottom of each of the six panels. Sponge black-green paint onto gingko stamps and stamp at various locations around all the corners of the box. Let paint dry and trace over the outline of the paint with Emboss Pen, and color inside the stamped image (the blank area) also. Emboss with Mystic Rainbow Embossing Powder.

Next, stamp and emboss the oriental carp in various positions around the box.  Color in with Ultimate Glitter pens and emboss with clear embossing powder.

Position remaining stamps in an underwater scene, color with pens or the Emboss Pen and emboss with clear embossing powder to set. On the treasure chest, emboss with a combo of gold, verdigris, and copper, set with clear embossing powder and highlight with a brown pen to accentuate. Each time you emboss, the powder gets wider and thus, less distinct, so the images will be less-than-crisp. In practice though, I hadn’t found any way around this problem because you can’t color with loose, unset embossing powder nearby without it falling off, or smearing.

When satisfied with the seascape, smear Duo Embossing Adhesive with a chopstick in various places at the bottom of the box to highlight the "sparkle of sand" and pour crushed pyrite over the adhesive.

Knock the excess into a coffee filter, and use a disposable brush to tap the pyrite into the glue while ridding it of excess.

For the cover, stamp the angel fish with indigo pigment ink and emboss. Paint with calligraphy ink as desired, highlighting the fins and tails. Using the Emboss Pen, trace over certain areas of the fish body, then emboss with Mystic Rainbow. Stamp the waterline with indigo ink and repeat with the Mystic Rainbow embossing powder.
